OMAEC (Organización
Mundial de Antiguos Alumnos de la Enseñanza
Católica) (Worldwide Organization of Former
Students of Catholic Teaching), which is an
Institution under the Vatican (Pius IX
Pontifical
Institute), will hold its XIII Wordlwide
Congress in Lebanon. From November 23th
to 27th, 2005, the city of
BEYRUT will
welcome the
delegations of
representatives of the various former students
worldwide organizations.
The
theme
of the Congress will be: "Former
Students of the Catholic Teaching: Witnesses and
Agents of Development, Dialogue and Peace”.
Significant
speakers will
take part, such as:

His Eminence, Cardinal
Mar Nasrallah Bourtros Sfeir,
Maronite
Patriarch
of Antioch and the Whole
East and President
of the
Assembly of Patriarchs and Catholic Bishops
of Lebanon (The Vocation of
Former Students in the Present Pluri-Cultural
and Multi-Religious Society)

Mgr Youssef Béchara,
President of the
Episcopal Commission
for Education and Culture.

His Eminence, Cardinal
Zenon Grocholewski, Prefect
of
the Pontifical Congregation for Education
. (The Commitment of Former
Students in
the bosom
of Catholic School
and in Society)
-
Former Students belonging
to other religions such as
Moslem, Buddhism and Hinduism
will also speak.
The
President of OMAEC, Dr. Antonio G. Pires
(Portugal) will chair the General Assembly to be
held on Saturday, 26th of November,
2005 for the appointment of a new President and
of a new Executive Committee.
The
organization of the Congress is directed by
M.Nagy Khoury, who is the
President of the Federation of Former Students
Associations of Catholic Schools (FAEC) of
Lebanon. |
