UMAEL General Secretary, Claudio
Ivan Zegarra Arellano, traveled to Santiago de Chile to
attend a Meeting for the Training of Political Leaders,
organized by the Department of Justice and Solidarity of
the Latin-American Episcopal Council (CELAM).
Once there, he had a special
occasion to meet with the Lasallian Family of Santiago
de Chile during the dinner held on 27th September in the
Casino of the De La Salle Center of La Reina, to which
he had been invited by the Rector of the Center,
Mr.Patricio Espinoza Gómez, and by the President of the
Former Students Center, Mr. Jaime Ortiz Mercado, and his
complete Board of Directors. To the dinner participated
also the Provincial Brother of the District of Chile, Br.
Carlos Jamade Irmas, as well as some representatives of
the Brothers Community and of the Students Center.
We talked about our role as
Lasallian Former Students from our own professional
activities in terms of educational service towards the
most needy, with especial emphasis on the poorest, and
about our role as former catholic students in the
defense of the catholic education. |
The
cities of Lisbon and Fatima have hosted the meeting of
OMAAECC (Worldwide Organization of Catholic Schools
Former Students) that was attended by José Ramón Batiste
as President of UMAEL (Worldwide Union of Lasallian
Former Students).
